Seasonal Care
Pollen Season in Winston-Salem Is Harder on Your Car Than You Think
Every spring, Forsyth County turns yellow — and so does every car parked outside. Pine and oak pollen isn't just dust on the surface; it's acidic, and left to sit under sun and dew cycles, it can etch into clear coat over just a few weeks. That thin yellow film people wipe off with a dry cloth is actually doing more damage than the pollen itself, since dry-wiping grinds the grit into the paint.
The right approach during peak pollen season (typically March through May here) is a proper rinse-and-foam wash rather than a wipe-down, and more frequent washing than you'd do the rest of the year. If your car's been sitting under trees for a few weeks straight, a decontamination wash and clay bar treatment gets out what a regular wash can't.

Ceramic Coating vs. Wax: What's Actually Different
Wax sits on top of your paint. It looks great for a few weeks, then breaks down from sun and washing and needs to be reapplied — that's just how it works, regardless of the brand or price point. Ceramic coating is a different category entirely: it chemically bonds to the clear coat, which is why it's sold in year-based tiers instead of "until your next wash."
For most daily drivers in this area, the honest tradeoff is upfront cost versus long-term maintenance. Wax is cheap and easy but needs constant reapplication. A ceramic coating costs more up front but is built to handle a Carolina summer — UV, tree sap, bird droppings — for years without needing to be redone.

What We Actually Need When We Show Up
The most common question we get before a first appointment: "what do you need from me?" It's simple — a standard outdoor power outlet and water access, ideally a hose bib. That's it. No special setup, no need to move anything ahead of time beyond making sure we can park close to the vehicle.
If you don't have outdoor water access — some apartments and townhomes don't — that's not a dealbreaker. We carry a 25-gallon emergency water tank for exactly that situation. Just mention it when you book, so we can plan the visit accordingly.
